In 2019 I had hip surgery, float therapy was essential for my recovery and chronic pain. Floating weekly relieved my severe muscle and joint pain, allowing me to rehab and regain my mobility quicker. I’ve been floating weekly since 2015, it continues to be an integral part of my wellness plan to help keep me young and mobile.
When I had a severe motorbike accident, I was told I wouldn’t ever walk properly again. After floating every weekend for 4 months, I was able to walk as well as ever, defying all doctors’ opinions. Floating has been part of my self care plan for my mental and physical health since the 90’s. It’s an incredibly relaxing therapy.
I came across Float Therapy back in 2016. During footy season, I float regularly. I use it for physical recovery after a game, but it’s also a powerful tool to get my mindset right before a game. While floating, I visualise the game play and remove any noise that distracts my focus. It gives me the edge to play my best on game day.
In 2014 I worked in an abusive workplace, subjected to daily threats and aggression. My mental health suffered so, I had to stop work. Regular floating is the cornerstone for managing my anxiety and PTSD. It lowers my adrenaline and cortisol so other therapies can be effective. It’s a safe place where my mind can quieten, and I heal.
I was able to hear my unborn baby’s heartbeat while floating, this was one of the most amazing experiences ever! My joint pressures and aches were eliminated, I left feeling totally re-energised, relaxed and on top of the world. The staff were nothing short of amazing. I slept like a baby after my spectacular float.
After running a marathon, I finished in a lot of pain. I could barely walk due to muscle fatigue and runner’s knee. I floated directly after the run, incredibly 90% of my pain was gone as a result! I’ve competed in iron man sprints and long distance running and I have never experienced such a quick recovery from pain and muscle fatigue.
I love sauna because it helps with pain & stress relief. I’ve used many saunas over the years and the infrared Sunlighten sauna at Gravity has been the best. As as a busy personal trainer and chef I personally find that having regular sauna sessions helps to manage pain and to relax after a busy week on my feet.
Working with high performance athletes, Dr Spencer believes that regular sessions in a Sunlighten sauna are essential for promoting muscle recovery, reducing tension and eliminating performance inhibiting toxic burdens from the body.
Sunlighten Saunas are indispensable to healthy living in our current toxic environment. Even if people are careful with their diets, personal care products and household cleaners, the amount of pollutants such as chemicals, preservatives and pesticides are so prevalent today that they are impossible to escape.
Sunlighten Saunas are different to regular saunas because infrared heat waves penetrate facial and muscular tissue, helping to rid the body of toxins that are stored in deeper layers than the simple sweat glands that are activated in a conventional sauna.
I’ve used saunas for many things: weight loss, to lower my blood pressure, to combat stress, lower my sky high cortisol levels & for relaxation. The infrared sauna at Gravity is one of the best models out there, the programs offered have something for everyone. It’s such a relaxing escape. The fact that you also benefit from clear smoother skin & a happy, elevated mood are a bonus!
From the moment I laid down in this water filled, space like cocoon, I loved it. Due to the high salt content in the water, no matter what I did, I did not sink! With the pod closed and the soft light glowing, I closed my eyes and as the gentle music played in the background I found myself relaxing, letting myself sink into the perfect temperature of the water surrounding me.
Did my first ever float on the weekend & it was so much fun… I was amazed at how well you just float there in the high magnesium baths – I felt like I was in the ocean but didn’t have any waves to contend with & it was warm & relaxing. Loved the gentle music at beginning & end to ease you into it & then bring you back.
Another great session at Gravity. I have found this to be the BEST way to deeply relax, to surrender my mind and be present. Like meditation on steroids!… yet so much easier as absolutely no resistance (zero gravity and no stimulation). I completed several months of weekly sessions, and it helped me to let go of underlying lifelong anxiety. So grateful for that! Love the venue, the staff and how fantastic I feel after each session!
Floating is literally the antidote to modern life. One hour in the tank has been able to lift the dark cloud hanging over my head and act as a circuit breaker for work stress, gym soreness, and many a life rut. You don’t need to read a study to be convinced after you do your first session, but the benefits for people suffering from mental health disorders and muscle tension is backed up by science. If you want your mojo back within an hour, try it.
I had a float a while back! Amazing experience, highly recommended for athletes and regular health practitioners, great for relaxing the muscles. Definitely looking forward to my next float.
This place is absolutely divine. From the super friendly, welcoming, pleasant staff to the gorgeous pod float rooms that are immaculately clean. This has to be THE best float centre I have ever visited. Float therapy is my definite go-to for relaxation. The best way I can reset and re-energize. I always walk out feeling like a brand new person and can’t wait to come back every time. Love love love it!
Floating has been incredible. As a carpenter & builder I’ve experienced a fall from a roof and the first thing I did was book in for a float. It allowed me to recover extremely well from the injuries and I was back on my feet in no time. I complete ultra endurance runs. The longest run I’ve done is 207km in 39 hours.
Wow, what an experience. I’ve now been back to Gravity Float so many times, I can’t get there enough. Anxious at first, then walked in & the staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable, they’re totally there for you and my 100 questions. For years I’ve been going to see masseurs for my back and body aches and pains…
I had my first float 2 days ago and absolutely loved it! The staff, facilities and service were impeccable and I experienced incredible improvement in shoulder tendonitis that I’d recently had cortisone injections in but was still suffering with. The profound sense of relaxation from truly letting go is still with me now.
Float therapy at Gravity was a deeply relaxing experience for me. How refreshing and calming floating in space void of all sensation of gravity, still and silent. Facilities were first class and staff very friendly. I am definitely incorporating this therapy into my wellness regimen, an awesome experience and highly recommend it!
Amy’s naturally caring and healing instincts really shine through in her practice. She puts in time, both before and after the session to really help you along your healing path. Skilled at working on your physical, mental and emotional levels. This allows her to assist no matter what your issues are. Her genuine care and expertise is refreshing.
Amy’s touch is intuitive, she has helped me in mind and body. I train for high endurance and as a result have particularly tight legs and calves muscles. The relief she brings in these spots are amazing. With her help I was able to stay on top of my injuries and maintain my desired exercise routine. I highly recommend Amy for her skill and versatility.
Amy is a great therapist – she uses effective techniques and is receptive to feedback during the session, so that specific areas are addressed. My sessions with her have allowed me to recover faster, so that I can get back into the gym sooner.
I’ve been seeing Amy for restorative bodywork for three years now and have had nothing but positive experiences. She truly is one of the best sources of helping you reach excellence in health and wellness especially for professional athletes. Amy consistently helped me relieve some of the stresses in my body by targeting areas where muscle tension affected my physical self. Amy’s openness, wholehearted listening, as well as her spiritual perspectives make her treatments a complete rejuvenating experience. It’s rare to meet people who not only transform your body but also one of the best sources of you becoming your better self.
I have complex ptsd, ADHD, autism and intense trauma around being touched and cannot recommend Amy and her therapies more. I appreciate her gentle, professional and intuitive approach. It was important to me that she provided a safe environment during therapy followed by a consultation for what I can expect after and how to incorporate further healing in my daily life. I really loved how she was able to offer both intense release and gentle restorative practises and how caring she was with me. I feel like I can breathe again.
Alana is an entrepreneur, creative and the co-creator of fashion label “I Am Gia”. The brand has been a massive success, and the concept came to Alana during a floatation session at Gravity Float back in 2017. In only as little as 1 month following her float tank experience, her dream had come to life; and the brand as it is known today was launched.
Pregnant with twins, Lana had been floating in the later stages of pregnancy for pain relief in her lower back. Lana completed two floats in two days as a way to relax, ease pain and prepare for her scheduled c-section in 2 days time. However, her gorgeous twin girls were so relaxed, they decided to join the world a little earlier; and within less than 24 hours of her floatation sessions, Lana went into natural labor and gave birth to two healthy baby girls.
I discovered float therapy late in the last trimester of my pregnancy. I completed three floats in three weeks just prior to giving birth. The deep sense of relaxation I experienced was like nothing else, not to mention the pressure being removed from my body. It was the first time in a long time that I felt comfortable laying down. Floating helped me to achieve a sense of calm and connection to my baby that I wouldn’t have been able to achieve without having the float experience. I gave birth 1-week after my final session, and I can’t wait to use it again after I have recovered.
Floating during my 2nd and 3rd trimester made my pregnancy enjoyable. Floating relieved the pain in my joints and the constant pressure of the heaviness and pressure from the baby. This helped me to relax and encouraged a calmness in my mind which helped me sleep.
I hadn’t floated before I was pregnant, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have to say, the relief I experienced from removing gravity from my body was incredible. I had been struggling with sleep during my pregnancy, and that same night after my float, I slept beautifully. The actual float itself was nothing short of magical; I felt a connection to my baby that was indescribable. This experience is something that I would recommend to any mum-to-be as a way to give back to you and connect deeply with your baby.
When I was 24 I survived a major brain-stem stroke, and since then I navigate our world with altered sensation, vestibular dysfunction and sensory overload. I’m consciously grateful to be able to walk, talk & utilise my body’s functions again, but I can forget how important it is to take un-seen pressures off my body and senses. That’s why I float with Gravity. The experience makes you feel welcome, weightless, and truly wonderful – it’s like giving yourself a big holistic hug. I highly recommend it.
After learning that I had high blood pressure and stress issues, I signed up to Gravity’s 6 Week Stress Relief Program. By my 3rd float, I was already feeling the benefits and my blood pressure was improving. I have continued with weekly floats and have now reduced my blood pressure to a normal range. My whole wellbeing has greatly improved and I have also learnt to manage my stress levels. Floating has been a game changer for me, and I am one very happy floater!
